Sophia’s Splendor

Oil on canvas, 12 x 12 inch

This piece is an abstract depiction of my perspective at a party. The theme of the party was ‘Let them eat cake’, therfore everyone was dressed in Marie Antoinette-esque clothing.
Whilst the paint was still wet I used a dry soft brissled brush to blur out the edges of the forms, attempting to evoke a somewhat drunk appeaarance when viewing the piece.
This piece is more figurative than I would usually paint, however I felt the need to depict it in this way, as I wanted this piece to be less about my emotions, and more about my perspective, capturing a still from my memories of the event.
