Ink
Informed by Japanese calligraphy artist Hiroshi Wada, renowned for infusing spontaneity and playfulness into his works, these ink pieces endeavour to recontextualize negative emotions positively through expressive ink splashes. The initial iterations of the pieces exhibit a certain lifelessness, which undergo a transformative enhancement with the incorporation of dynamic black brushstrokes and meticulous outlining. To achieve a nuanced textural variation, different brushes are employed for the thicker marks, while a fine-tipped brush is utilised for the outlining, introducing delicacy that serves to complement and counterbalance the boldness of the primary marks, thereby enhancing the overall aesthetics of the works.
