Finding My Way

Oil on canvas, 12 x 16 inch

‘Finding My Way’ is an abstracted self portrait featuring deep blues and purples that converge, creating an intense sea of emotions.
I used a dried sea sponge to stipple the burst of vibrant yellow slightly off centre that represents coming into one's self after facing the brunt of a particularly difficult situation involving the health of family members, as the colour yellow often reminds me of illness.
The composition, sitting between chaotic and harmonious, attempts to invite contemplation of the intricate interplay between vulnerability and strength, creating a visual narrative of my emotional journey.
