Conglomerate of
Little Men
In my ceramic creations, I interrogate the human form, exploring the threshold of abstraction before rendering the work sufficiently unrecognisable as a human entity. I found that removing all indications of limbs was when the line started to be drawn and it was no longer able to be personified to the same degree as some of the others.
There is a somewhat cathartic feeling I experience when modelling clay. These abstracted figures are made quickly and intuitively without overthinking in order to keep intact the handmade element I like my ceramic work to emanate.
