Argumentative Night Out

Oil on canvas, 32 x 40 inch

This piece is an abstract depiction of a night out where my friend group divided into two and caused many arguments and passive aggression. The bold maroon figure that is slightly off centre attempts to evoke a feeling of disarray and aggression between some of my friends on the night. I stayed fairly passive throughout the night, attempting to hear out both sides of the story, however this became difficult when the split happened and I was forced to pick a side. I used oil sticks to create the faded green squiggles in the corners of the piece, which aim to portray an element of peacekeeping from me towards the group as a whole, emphasised by me coming from different angles.
